About Ixaria
Ixaria helps small to medium upholstery manufacturers better sell their products online using different technologies, know-how and constant improvement. The main focus is to create a delightful user experience and build trust by deploying self improving product pages.
Their target market: European furniture manufacturers who sell upholstered products through ecommerce.
The Challenge
Alex had a razor-sharp ideal customer profile. He knew exactly who would buy: manufacturers of upholstered furniture who sell online, ideally through Shopify. The problem was finding them.
Out of every 1,000 companies he researched, only 30 to 60 were actual fits. That is a 3-6% match rate. The other 94-97% were dead ends. And every one of those dead ends cost him time he didn’t have.
The real pain came down to three things:
1. Manual research was eating his calendar
To qualify 200 companies per week, Alex needed about 17 hours (checking websites, browsing product pages, verifying whether they sell online, what platform they use and whether they make upholstered products). At €50/hour (the average cost of hiring an SDR), that is €850 per week burned on research alone.
2. Lead databases don’t offer these filters
Standard databases like Apollo or ZoomInfo can filter by industry, company size, job title etc. But they cannot tell you whether a manufacturer makes upholstered products specifically, whether they sell through ecommerce, or what platform they use. The exact data points that define a qualified lead for Ixaria simply do not exist in any database you can buy.
3. The CEO was stuck doing research instead of selling
With 17 hours per week consumed by research, Alex had limited time left to actually contact prospects. At 15 minutes per outreach, those 17 hours could have been 66 additional contacts. At 30 minutes per intro call, that is 33 calls that never happened. Every week, the time spent researching directly translated into customers he could not reach and conversations he could not have.
What We Built
We built an automated qualification system tailored to Ixaria’s exact ICP criteria. Instead of Alex visiting hundreds of websites manually, our system:
- Scans manufacturer websites and product pages automatically
- Identifies whether the company sells upholstered products
- Detects if they have an ecommerce presence and which platform they use

The criteria that no database could filter for (product type, sales channel, platform) became the primary filters. This was not a better version of Apollo. It was a fundamentally different capability that did not exist for Alex before.
